Display Please wait.. message on button click

Hi All,
I'm novice to dotnet - javascript world. Please help me. I'm trying to display a "Please wait" message similar to one displayed on face book site. Is it possible to do this with javascript. Also if there is some other way then please let me know as soon as possible.

The Code in that article you can use it on your content page if you are using master pages.
