How to Search the Telerik Map Control in Silverlight4
Last updated on: 18 Feb 2011 07:26:00 AM by Vuyiswamb | Views: 9626 | Category: Silverlight |
This is the coolest thing I have ever done with the Telerik’s Silverlight map Control. The Control it’s so easy to use. The Previous article I have written on the Map control of was based on co-ordinates, it is good when you want to display certain areas, but if you want people to search certain location, you will need to allow them to enter the location of the place. I had a look at one of the demos presented by Telerik and to my surprise it was very easy to do. I even search my home town.

A friend of mine, who is doing working on a GIS project, asked me, if I could get him a cool control that will show maps based on the Coordinates at ease without worrying about other map problems that GIS developers come across every day. So this triggered me to write something nice with the Map control from Telerik.

Building an N-Tier Architecture Application in Silverlight 4 Part I
Last updated on: 07 Feb 2011 05:52:45 AM by Vuyiswamb | Views: 13962 | Category: Silverlight |
This is my first part of the series of N-Tier architecture in Silverlight. I would like to stress that the architecture has been misused and abused. I came across designs that were breaking the rules of the N-Tier architecture designs. We will highlight those rules in the series of this subject. Microsoft did a good job with Silverlight, there is no way of adding inline or naked SQL statements in the Presentation Layer anymore, like it used to be in Asp.net and win forms applications I have ever came across. As an N-Tier architecture evangelist I always practices what I preach everywhere I go.

I am known by writing easly interpreted articles and I will keep on doing that , by even providing you with screenshots. Thanks again to Sheo who take my article as word document and post them on my behalf. I am a programmer who does not like to spent to much time on a word processing program like ms word.
