I did B.Tech in IT in 2005.I have total 7.5 yrs exp including 5 yrs in GIS (Geographic Information System) engineer & 2.5 yrs as Planning engineer in Engineering Design Dep. in same org. The main activity of planning engineer is preparing difference type of report (weekly, monthly etc), prepare scheduling helps of scheduling tools like MS Project 2010 or Primavera & creating project & task in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). I have two questions regarding my future career. First question is that what is the future scope for me as a planning engineer & Second question is that if I will shift my career in software industry , which technology is better for me admin job or any software job(I am not interested to go any development job)

Greetings!! TO answer your first question, being a planning engineer I don't think so you have career advancement. And if you want to change your career, as you have grabbed 5 years in GIS go for the same route only. Tier I companies has opportunities in Australia etc for GIS engineers where you can get the job easily. These are long term opportunities which you can focus on. Try this first and I think you will be settled.
