What and all i should know to become asp.net(web app) proffessional after switch from vb.net(Windows Application) ?

Hi all,

I have 2 yrs Windows Application (VB.net) experience.NOW
I want to switch to Web application (ASP.net) from Windows Application (VB.net).
So what and all areas i should be strong enough to become complete Web App
(ASP.net) PROFFESIONAL.and how can i improve my skills coding (development) on Web applications.

Summarizing what all you need to know in the following points..
  1. HTTP/TCP protocol from a very high overview perspective
  2. JavaScript/CSS/XHTML
  3. ASP.NET ofcourse (since you will be opting for MS technologies)
  4. Authentication/ Authorization techniquest
  5. WCF/Web Services
  6. AJAX
  7. jQuery (and similar javascript libraries like Prototype, ExtJS etc.)
  8. Unit Testing / Integration Testing (NUnit, MBUnit, Selenium, WatiN etc or VS Test)
  9. Silverlight awareness
  10. Common design patterns
  11. Strong Object Oriented skills
This is just a summary.  Google it you will get details of each area.
