Want to enter into s/w industry

Hi experts,

I have a relative who want to enter in to s/w industry.He has done a MBA in finance and marketing and have no prior programming language Knowledge even C language.So can you suggest a entry point for him in IT field.

He is learning SAP-FICO right now, it will be great if you can suggest some other alternatives apart from SAP.
