Sir i'm a 3rd year engineering student. i have a great interest in but my friends are doing GATE classes is is better for a good programmer. please help i'm confused

Kapil's Advice on Monday, December 06, 2010 :
To be a good programmer you need logical and analytic reasoning skill. You need to have an aptitude for programming and complying with the best practices. You need to have good fundamentals into design principles and design patterns.

Nothing is comparable to actual programing on the job because it is on the job you get the real life challenges, actual client problems, and scenarios which challenges your theory concepts and make you solve them.
You can't be a good swimmer unless you start swimming.
