I am a .net developer with 4 year experience. I want to shift my career into business intelligence. Please advise me how to proceed.

Business Intelligence is field of Data. It involves storing, retrieving and presenting data in way which is can be analyzed from various angle and helps in making intelligent business decision. 

Hence, the field involves -
  Data Storage-> Transformations -> Aggregations -> Data Warehouse

Some of the tool for Business Intelligence tools from SQL Server.
- Understanding  advance database concepts and tools  of storing data in RDBMS database, the relation concepts, tables, column, indexing etc. 
   SQL Server 
- Data extraction ETL - extraction and transformation   
   SQL Server Integration Services
OLAP concepts , Facts , Dimension, Star Schema   and Tools 
   SQL Server Reporting Services
   SQL Server Analysis Services 
- Reporting and Data visualization concepts and Tools       
   SQL Server Reporting Services
