One of my friend has started working as a corporate trainer. She is good in technical but due to some personal reasons, she has taken lighter job. she is a very hard worker and keeps updating herself. Now my concern is will she be able to get into development again.

I belive corporate trainers will have good technical knowledge . they will have strong background in technical.
She has about 7 + yrs experience.

-Thanks in advance

Sainath's Advice on Sunday, June 09, 2013 :
Hi,

Corporate training is not an easy job, by any stretch of imagination. Moreover, when you are training experienced people, they will definitely give you a tough time. Having said that, the corporate training experience is not treated as core development experience which is what causes problems when a corporate trainer tries to switch over into core development. Having said that, I know scores of people who made the switch when the market timing was right. It is very much possible to go back into core development but please do not expect that if out of 7 years of experience, 5 years is in training and 2 years in core development (coding), software development organizations will treat it as such.

Regards,
Sainath S,
